Tutoring Focus
High school mathematics can be daunting and challenging, it requires problem solving skills and ways of thinking that are not developed in earlier years. Throughout high school many students are often turned against maths, this initial challenge is met with frustration as they are often not shown the bigger picture or effective problem-solving methods.
In high school maths, the rote learning approach of memorizing formula and applying repetitive steps is not going to be enough to solve difficult problems and concepts. When solving these problems, a strong fundamental understanding of the topics, questions and methods is required. When tutoring my focus will be to give students the necessary foundation to help reach their goals in learning and hopefully find a lifelong passion for mathematics.
